Join us in Sacramento, CA for Greentools 2008!

Join us on September 11th and 12th in Sacramento, California for the second annual Greentools for Healthy Schools Conference, Training and Expo! CHPS’ annual conference offers the latest tools in designing, constructing and operating a new generation of healthy, green schools. This in-depth and intimate training and networking opportunity will focus on the three most pressing issues challenging the school community and our goal of ensuring high performance schools for all: climate change, high performance school policy and existing schools.

The first day will take place at the Hyatt Regency in Sacramento. Innovative trainings will follow on the second day at one of the newest schools to be built to CHPS high performance school Criteria. To find out more about the program, the conference topics and sponsorship opportunities, visit:

Long Beach Unified Passes Comprehensive CHPS Resolution
CHPS welcomes Long Beach Unified School District as the newest CHPS District! Long Beach joins 26 other districts requiring the use of the CHPS Criteria in district projects. As part of their Facilities Master Plan, the Long Beach USD School Board passed a comprehensive resolution committing that all new schools, major modernizations and relocatables will meet or exceed the minimum requirements of the CHPS high performance school Criteria.

Anticipating the positive impact for the students of the school district, Board President Dr. Felton Williams noted the “ability to adopt and incorporate the CHPS criteria in all future facilities work was a reasonable approach that at the same time supports the district’s shared values and goals and keeps the District in a leadership position among other proactive and visionary school districts in the State of California.” To read the district's complete resolution click here.
