ORC Public Review is Closed
The Collaborative for High Performance Schools (CHPS) is dedicated to making schools a better place to learn. CHPS priorities are 1) to create healthy and productive learning spaces; 2) to conserve natural resources including energy, water and materials thereby saving operating costs, and 3) to minimize the environmental impact of school.
The CHPS Operations Report Card (ORC) is a web-enabled benchmarking and continual improvement tool for existing schools. The original modules – Energy Efficiency, Thermal Comfort, Indoor Air Quality, Lighting Quality, and Acoustics – focus on the classroom environment and the first two priorities.
CHPS, in partnership with Global Green USA, has updated the Operations Report Card to include new modules for Waste Reduction and Water Conservation that will round out the ORC to include two essential elements of a high performance school.
CHPS invites the public to comment on the document available on this page. It includes the data that will be collected from schools, the mechanisms to collect that data, and scoring rubric to create a score based on the result of the investigation.
